Chief Minister MK Stalin of Tamil Nadu has announced the introduction of the ‘Tamil Pudhalvan’ scheme, aimed at providing monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,000 to male students from government schools who pursue higher education. This scheme is set to commence from August 2024.

Students enrolling in diploma, degree, undergraduate, vocational, and paramedical courses are eligible for the monthly stipend under the ‘Tamil Pudhalvan’ scheme. However, the scheme does not extend its benefits to students pursuing distance education or those enrolled in open universities.
